Number 471 of 500 limited editino copies! 1996 first edition stanyon's magic volumes one through fifteen (october, 1900 august, 1920) written, illustrated and edited by ellis stanyon no reserve! Magic the only paper in the british empire devoted solely to the interests of magicians, jugglers, hand shadowists, ventriloquists, cartoonists and specialty entertainers. This hardcover, three book set, is a reprint of the complete run of stanyon's magic, originally published between october, 1900 and august, 1920. Includes a general index, index by subject, and an index by contributor prepared by stephen hobbs, in addition to the reprints of the original volume indexes appearing before each volume. Within this periodical, one will find a variety fo magic related material including magician biographies, correspondence, escapes, essays, obituaries, puzzles, juggling, stories and advice, ventriloquism, tricks using thimbles, thread, cards, coins, matches, cigarettes, etc, chemical and fire magic, indian magic, lightning calculation, and more! Within this reprint, one will even find a copy of stanyon's letter regarding the five-year gap between sisues in volume 14. Issues features black adn white illustrations throughout. Three hardcover books are accompanied with a solid maroon slipcaes for protection and storage. Books themselves, are in overall mint condition! With the cost of gasoline being what it is these days, it costs me over $5.00 in gas and wear and tear on the car alone to make the special trip to the post office that is required because of customs forms, not to mention the additional time (usually an additional hour or more, round trip).
Also, several times i have taken the packages for out-of-country shipment to the post office, only to be told that the postage was more than what was charged by the ebay calculator and more than what was quoted by theri own usps online calculator. Another consideration is the cost of packing materials (tape, packing foam, etc.
). This is why i have 2 statements in the listing to please click on the shipping calculator to determine your cost to ship this item before you bid so there are no surprises. I put tehm there so there would be no surprise as to the cost to ship these items after the fact.
